Commonwealth C-c-c-commonwealth Games

Today the students of room 13 had to choose how they would display their knowledge and any information they researched about the Commonwealth Games...check it out!

Lets Celebrate!

There are lots of celebrations that we know or have heard about and there are lots of different reasons why they are celebrated. We decided to look at the common reasons why these celebrations are celebrated and group them. Celebrating sports, cultures, religious beliefs and anniversaries were just some of the many reasons.

Let's Celebrate!

Today we started exploring our inquiring into topic, Let's Celebrate! Our Big Idea is that “Participation in family, cultural and community celebrations brings people closer together”. We created a list of the celebrations that we participate in and another list of the other celebrations that we know about, then talked about the reasons we do these celebrations. Here's a wee taster of what we did.

Kapa Haka'ing up a storm

Wow what a night! After an awesome performance by our Kapa Haka roopu I'm truly spent. Well done to all the students from room 13 and the other classes for putting up a very polished and high quality performance. It was a fantastic night starting at school with group dinner, travelling by bus to Walter Nash, watching the other schools perform and then finally getting to show what we could do. Bring on 2015!
